Walker Funeral Homes is proud of its newest
addition, Walker Cremation Services, serving the Southern Illinois
area. This new addition is scheduled to open June 1, 2003.
More and more people are choosing cremations
as an alternative to a traditional funeral service and burial.
However, cremation does not have to replace a funeral service.
Cremation service can still include a public visitation, open
casket and a memorial service as well as many other options.

We offer the following services for out-of-town funeral homes.
When a death occurs in one our local hospitals or nursing homes, we have
licensed funeral directors to assist you. The director will make the removal,
get the necessary papers, and a licensed cremationist will perform the cremation
at our facility in Carbondale. We can mail the remains to you after 24 hours, plus
cremation time.
We are located close to the following hospitals in three counties
Union County Hospital, Anna, Illinois
St. Joseph Hospital, Murphysboro, Illinois
Emorial Hospital, Carbondale, Illinois
Herrin Hospital, Herrin, Illinois
